ParticipantHey guys, love the plugin but running into an issue that started to happen recently. When the order of set to ‘Random’ the posts used to cycle randomly to fill the 5 allocated slides from the category selected.
Now it always stays on the same 5 slides regardless. Is this a plugin issue or a hosting cache issue?
The site in question is http://meowoof.com.au/
Apologies if this topic has been covered before.

KeymasterHello Smikey, If you have any caching plugin installed please deactivate and then check what happens. Also, if you have CDN or other server side caching, disable those and check. Let us know your feedback.
If this is a plugin issue we will try to resolve it ASAP. Thank you.

ParticipantHi Digonto, I have contacted my hosting company (who we have migrated to recently – around the time that this function stopped working) and have tried these things to try to get the function working in no case did it work as intended.
1. Updating the plug-in
2. Deactivating the plug-in and reactivating.
3. Disabling all other plug-ins and to check for possible interference
4. Changing the settings under the slider and setting them back.
5. Changed the settings to see if they slider would work under other circumstances which it will.
6. Changed the order length and the tags to include in the random order, it will pull other posts but the random feature still is not working correctly. (Caching is disabled on the staging site so we should be able to eliminate that factor.)
7. Attempted to change the theme to a default wordpress theme, but the slider does not pull up at all under that circumstance.I’m not sure what else there is to try so if you can suggest anything else that may help in working this out I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for your time!

KeymasterHi Smikey, we appreciate your patience. Actually we tested the feature in our environment and didn’t get any problem. We want to troubleshoot your problem and need some co-operation from you. First, let me know about your hosting server. Because some WordPress optimized hosting server by default disable the order by rand feature. In this case order by random will not work. For example if you use WP Engine hosting then you need to enable order by rand from admin panel. Otherwise it will not work in the query.
Second please provide a detail screenshot of your option set. We will try our best to figure out the problem. Thank you.

ParticipantHey Digonto, thanks for your quick reply. We are using WP Engine.
Here is a screenshot of all the settings if you could look through and see if there’s anything that seems prohibitive.
Thanks!

KeymasterJust enable order by rand from admin panel (WP Engine dashboard). Hopefully it will work.
